I am not big on anthologies, for I enjoy the details of a story and how the characters develop, and feel short stories do not permit the personal involvement of full length novels. However, I know, as a former bookseller, that during the Hols the Christmas Anthologies always do well. This is one of the best I have come across. Kleypas is a strong lead, with newer Cach and Dain showing they are names to watch. But the real gem is the last story "All I Want" by Lynsay Sands. This is a gentle, funny story of a young lady in a trouble family. Brother was killed race carriages through London; Father now drinks and gambles his money away, leaving Mother, young daughter and Pru making wishes they won't end up in the poor house before New Year's Eve.
Pru, like all Lynsay's spunky characters, decides to take matters into her hands and corner papa in the gambling hell. Her efforts to get inside the Men Only club is a riot that will have you howling out loud. And naturally, who should she meet and fall for - the owner of the gaming hell. But can he make her wishes come true?
Lynsay is tops at giving you really funny situations, without insulting the intelligence of the characters or the readers. This is one of those stories that will linger in your mind for years to come.
Mark my words: Lynsay Sands is the next big break out writer. When I was selling Books there were three names I said would break away from the pack and shine, Linda Howard, Nora Roberts, and Jayne Ann Krentz. I have been saying to friends, watch out, Lynsay Sands will be the next one.
Any romance reader would love this under the trees. Men, give this and a box of chocolate and you will have her heart!!!

When I pick up an anthology featuring favorite romance novelists, like Lisa Kleypas, I'm just looking for some quick entertainment. Just make me smile for an hour or two.

4 stars for Lisa Kleypas - Her story starring Logan Scott's(Because You're Mine) younger brother - a dissolute alcoholic, albeit a good-looking one. Andrew, heir to a rich title, tries to convince his mean, grousing old father that he can manage the lands and wealth of the title by engaging in a courtship with a prim and proper spinster. Of course, neither Andrew nor his pretend love thought they would actually come to like each other...

5 stars - Our heroine is trying to stop her father from his drinking and gambling before he puts her whole family in the poor house. She figures her best bet is to catch her father at his favorite gambling establishment and stop him one way or another. Unfortunately, the owner of said gambling establishment does not let gently bred women in the door. Well, not willingly, but, if they sneak in some how, maybe a kiss or three. Lynsay Sands is new for me, but, this was by far the most fun, the most entertaining, the most joyful story. I may have to go read everything she has ever written. She reminds me of Julia Quinn, but with a drier sense of humor.

The middle two stories are forgettable. Lisa Cach's was downright boring. Get this book from your library. You won't want to keep it. Just read the first and last stories for some quick enjoyable romance.

Although I love reading on my kindle, it was good hold a book in my hand.
If you love Lisa Kleypas, this story will not disappoint. The heroine, Caroline, is actually believable in her extremely naive nature. However, it makes me think Kleypas's other heroines know a little too much if they're supposed to be innocent too.
