This book was everything I wanted for this couple and more! We first met Paige and Ryan (aka Captain) in the first book in this series, Everything For Her. I was so intrigued by their push-and-pull connection. They definitely started out with a love/hate thing (at least on Paige's end), and it grew from there!

Paige grew up rough. Her dad is a piece of garbage monster, and her mom was weak, and loved him, even though he treated her horribly. He killed her mom right in front of her (which we learned in book 1), and Paige ran away. When Paige met her half brother Miles (the hero from book 1, who has the same father) and agreed to work for him, she met her new boss, Ryan. Paige and Mallory, in book 1, nicknamed him Captain, because they said he looked like, and reminded them of Captain America.

Ryan has deeper layers than anyone knows. We don't know much about him from the first book, except that he has a thing for Paige. But even as a reader, we didn't know how deep that ran. He's had an interesting life, and we learned lots of spoilery goodness about him right up front here in this story, that I won't discuss, but really made us understand him a lot better, and gave us details I didn't even know I needed or wanted, but they made the story so much better.

Ryan and Paige's cat and mouse act is cute, and you really get to understand Paige a lot more, and why she can't help but try to push his buttons. She's never really had anyone love her unconditionally, and it scares her to death, because she doesn't trust it. She's a mess of anxiety and issues, and in uncovering things about her past, you can accept her more easily. She wants Ryan, but she's also scared to have him, and she doesn't think she deserves him. Meanwhile, Ryan is basically obsessed with her (he's about as bad as Oz in book 1!), and he just wants her to accept his love. He wants her to realize he'd do, literally, anything for her, which he definitely proves, before the book is over.

"'I've never met a piece of bacon I didn't like, and I have a very strong attraction to your ass.' Paige howls with laughter, and I sit there watching. The way her head tilts back and exposes her throat. The way her hair falls to the side. The way she places her hand on her chest. There were some interesting twists and turns, and a couple red herrings, when it came to the story about their pasts, and how their paths first intersected. I really enjoyed this part of the story, as it was a lot different than I expected. I do love a good surprise! Also, it was more emotional than I expected, which I enjoyed as well. Ryan and Paige both really grew as characters, both within themselves, and together as a couple, to create an unbreakable bond. I just loved them.

I really love all of Alexa Riley's short and sexy stories, but I have loved this duo of full length novels much more than I even thought I would. There is so much more story, but with all the same delicious chemistry, fun banter, and awesome sexy times. Also, I have to admit, one of my favorite things about their books are their amazing epilogues! This book was no exception, as it had it's own fun ones too!

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book, as I enjoyed it tremendously! I can't wait to see what the Alexa Riley duo come up with next!

His Alone' by Alexa Riley is book Two in the "For Her" series. This time, it’s the story of Paige and Ryan aka..Captain.
You can tell immediately that Paige wants Ryan, feels deeply for him but can’t let him in because of other things going in in her life at the moment. But she has never gone up against a man in love or obsessed with anything/anyone and that man is Ryan. He wants Paige and he is finally ready for her but is she ready for him?
Ryan has been obsessed with Paige for years, ever since he saw her picture. Paige has had vendetta on her mind, waiting for when she could do what was needed to get justice for her mother but Ryan has been there distracting her. Their love story is unique because with Ryan she could let herself go and not pretend to be this take no charge woman, this know it all woman and can let Ryan take care of her, can be her savior instead of her saving others.
With the Captain and Paige together, I loved how everything felt so right. He knew she was gunning for someone and he wanted to protect her from making a big mistake and tried to divert her attention but it seems there is more going on with “Captain” than meets the eye. Ryan was not who he claimed to be and when Paige finds out, she is devastated. she was shattered. Can they come back from the brink and come back stronger?
This is a beautiful story of two broken souls who find each other –who are truly determined to get what they want to the point of obsession and find each other. Their only hope, their love is in each other. Alexa Riley has written a beautiful story of redemption, hope and love. The sex is soo hot and fantastic! The #FORHER series is awesome and I hope they continue writing more of these full length novels, because these are some great books that have possessive alpha , intelligent women, erotic and hot sex ..what more can you ask for?

Quick thoughts on the characters

Paige/Kitten - I love how strong Paige was. She was sassy and didn't take any flack from anyone but she just melts for Captain and Mel. We get to see two sides to her and you can't help but love both.
Ryan/Captain - Oh my gawd! Seriously? I thought I couldn't love him more than Miles but I really did. Just trust me. He's bigger, bossier and dirtier, yeah you read that right!

So here's the basics because if you're reading this, you're trying to decide if it's worth buying or taking up space in your KU library.

1.) Cheating? Nope!
2.) Cliffhanger? This book has the opposite of a cliffhanger. You have such a detailed, perfect, extended ending you will not have a SINGLE question when this book/series ends.
3.) HEA? See above/YES!
4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Nah, I mean, there's a tinybit of violence but you can handle it, I promise.
5.) Well written? So-so, I didn't really pick up on any typo's but some sentences were worded awkwardly and it could have been smoother.
6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Um, this is Alexa Riley - it's hot, dirty and so much of it.Captain has a dirty mouth and I loved it!
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? Not unless you read the first book... so you know, read the first book.
